Make sure that it is a high-quality HDMI cable.
The original version of HDMI was only meant to support 720p and 1080i HDTVs, so an old HDMI cable that worked with a TV set might not be able to carry the amount of data required for a 27" 2.5K or 4K computer monitor.
It seems that either there is some issue with my HDMI cable or with the resolution of my 2nd monitor as there will be a display in my 2nd monitor after either I unplug the HDMI cable or turn-off my 2nd monitor. I'll try to buy an HDMI cable that supports higher resolutions and see what happens. Thank you.
Hi,
Your MacBook Pro HDMI port supports for one display with up to 4K resolution at 120Hz (M3).
I assume your external display doesn't compatible with your MacBook Pro.
