Loud Sounds Reduction on Airpods Pro 2 seems to be malfunctioning

The past 3 days, when using my airpods pro 2 (lightning) I’ve noticed that when the loud sounds reduction is toggled on, it seems to remove almost all sounds, regardless of loudness. If I switch loud sounds reduction off, the airpods seem to perform as normal. Was there a firmware recently? Is anyone else noticing this with their airpods pro 2?

Factory resetting seems to have fixed the issue!

Return AirPods to factory settings

AirPods 1, 2, or 3, or AirPods Pro (all generations): Put the AirPods in their case, close the lid, then wait 30 seconds. Open the lid, then press and hold the setup button on the back of the case for about 15 seconds, until the status light flashes amber, then white.
