Messages, FaceTime and Photos do not work on my newly purchased MacBook Pro

I’ve recently purchased a macbook yesterday and my messages, facetime, and photos do not work. They either crash, never boot up, or if they do none of my contacts or pictures are synced from my iPhone.

All three devices are logged into iCloud with the same Apple ID. Photos show up in iMessages on the iPhone and iPad. Photos do not show up in Messages on my Mac mini but text does. MacBook M2 - When using Messages - If I try to add a photo using the Photo icon i get message Unable to Load Items I can select photos in my libraries and share them with message. I 'ran 'repair' on the library. I can load items on my iPhone. I updated iCloud. macOS is Ventura 13.4.1 My daughter has the same MacBook and hers works fine. THX for any advice!

iMessage photos and videos won’t sync on iPhone and Mac despite iCloud being on This is one of the most frustrating, ongoing issues I have had with my MacBook and phone. For context, this is a multi-layered issue. At the very core, what I want to solve is the disappearance of photos and videos from the iMessage photos tab. I have texts going back about 2 years with attachments that do not load (i.e. they appear as IMG_XXX.heic, but will not download after pressing them). All I would like to do is access this attachments. I have had iCloud messages enabled on both my MacBook and my iPhone for years, but I regularly encounter problems when syncing. Today, I attempted to sync my iCloud messages to my phone and would repeatedly be shown “Syncing with iCloud” for about 10 seconds, and then encounter “Syncing paused” which would prompt me to continuing syncing and the problem would cycle. I even upgraded my iCloud storage to 2TB as I thought this might be a storage problem, but that did not help. I switched over to my MacBook and had an identical error. Still, none of my old photo or videos are appearing when searching through the iMessage photos tab, or when searching for them through keywords. I am genuinely out of solutions and can’t understate how frustrating this has been. If anyone has any recommendations for troubleshooting, please let me know. Is this MacBook one you purchased as new from an Apple Store or authorized Apple reseller? If so, and you've not installed anything like antivirus, a "cleanup" app, etc.(in which case you should remove it) then I'd suggest you take the Mac back to the store and get them to help you sort out the problem or exchange it.

If you purchased this Mac used or from some unauthorized source, then I'd recommend that you erase it and start from scratch:

Erase your Mac and reset it to factory settings - Apple Support

There's no way to know what might be wrong with it or what might be lurking or just clogging things up.
