Should I update iPhone to iOS 18 if it's been repaired by 3rd party?

I've watched a content in tiktok that ios 18 should not be installed or updated on the iphone devices that has been repaired from a third party vendor?

Once you update the iphone device to ios 18 you can't use your iphone device anymore.

Is this true?

Hello please can I update my iPhone12pro to iOS 18 with an unknown screen part and battery at 77%

Updating your phone is the least of your worries. At 77% battery health, you're more pressing issue right now is having your battery replaced. The battery should have been replaced when battery health dipped to 80%. Whether Apple will be willing to replace the battery is unknown. They usually won't touch a phone which has been tampered with and your phone has an non-authentic screen.

iPhone 12 is certainly capable of running iOS 18. Your battery is your primary concern at this point. If you continue using the battery, it could swell and destroy your phone, which would require you to buy a new phone.
