7 Digit Phone Number Not Accepted Because It’s “Not 7 Digits”

I just got a iPad Air 5 and made a new Apple ID along with it. I wanted to go download an app and got to the part where you can fill in your payment info, address, and phone number. I inputted the area code 001 for Canada and my 7 digit phone number ((416)-123-1234 for example) but it still says that it needs to be 7 digits. I retried this at least 10 times now, yesterday and today, but nothing has changed. I already messaged support but a different bug happened midway with the previous step where the Next button kept greying out which derailed the topic and the support person told me to reset my network on the device I was contacting them with which disconnected me with them even though I asked if it would and they said that it wouldn’t.

The ten digits shown in the field in the second image is not the required seven. Replace the 001 with 416, and place seven digits in the phone number field and not ten as was shown. No country code.
