iPhone SE 2020 randomly blocking callers

Hello,

I’ve seen this issue discussed a couple of times in the past with no resolution, and I urgently need help.

Calls from my attorney are being blocked by my phone. I have an iPhone SE 2020. I have followed all steps to reset. I have contacted carrier (metro PCS) every times, they’ve never seen anything like it. There are no numbers in my block list, all filtering is turned off, Wi-Fi calling us off, all “sharing across devices” is off, all focus is off. Phone has be restarted many times and iOS is up to date . I’ve deleted and remade this contract twice.

I know of 3 occasions that my attorney called and left me a voicemail, because he documented it in email immediately. But I had my phone in my hand the whole time (2 were predetermined appts) and it never rang and I never got the messages.

The only thing I can think of is that the office number is all one digit, so is it somehow getting blocked as a suspected scam, even with filters turned off? For example it’s like (xxx) 555-5555. They are also using some kind of relay phone service (if he calls me from his cell # while he’s out of office, it still shows up in caller ID as the main office number).

There are times he’s been able to connect no problem. But the times I missed were critical and have caused me much anguish. Things are progressing quickly and I need to be sure he can contact me. I’m also expecting calls from the SSA via withheld numbers that my life is dependent on me receiving (disability).

If anyone has any tips I’d greatly appreciate it

iPhone SE, iOS 17
