iPhone lagging after iOS 18 Update

Since updating to iOS18, my iPhone has been having nothing but issues. I switched from a Samsung A53 5G in May, and now I'm having issues with receiving/making phone calls, messages not coming thru, apps randomly crashing, alarms not working, chrome/google not working, basic functions essentially telling me to F off. I got an iPhone because I wanted to try something new. Got told by a lot of people that iPhone was the way to go. I am extremely disappointed in not only the phone itself, but with Apple as a company. I will never buy another iPhone again

I’m on a XR and I almost got into it with my phone lbs it’s laggy at times and if u need to get warm all u gotta do is put this bad boy in your undergarments and boom your body temperature will rise again !!

I swear I feel like I have a ticking time bomb on my hands .. perhaps if it’s able to update on the older models .. maybe it should be optimized more or something to fit the standards of the older phones cuz man it’s annoying

I’m having the same issue: I have to restart the phone a couple times a day to make it work : even as I’m typing now I’m experiencing “sticky keys” like on an old typewriter. I’ve had background refresh turned for a long time to conserve cellular data.

This update ruined my vacation with my nephews: I couldn’t take any photos because the phone is so laggy that between the time i pressed the camera button and anything happens the 3&5 yo boys would have moved on to the next thing.

Another thing I noticed since update: phone battery health was downgraded - it was 89% before the update and now it’s 86% - another ploy to make me think my phone needs replacing.

Somehow apple was able to make the same ios function just fine on an ipad which has exactly same capacity as my phone: Apple stop forcing people to buy new phones! I have been an apple customer for 15 years (laptop, ipad, watch, phones) - but as i switched to apple at some point i can switch again.

Whatsapp is worst among all. Every 15 mins I am clearing Safari history to clear up some memory and it helps for 5 mins then same ****.. This is really bad.. phone is not even one year old and how can you have this bad of OS.

Yeah, it is. After iOS 18, my iPhone 11 Pro is lagging more than usual. I’ve been using iPhones since iOS 9, and this is the worst release Apple has ever made, even worse than iOS 17. There’s no downgrade option either without erasing everything. In my opinion, Apple is now in a rat race, and I can’t trust their future updates and decisions without thinking twice. 👎🏾

Hopefully another update comes to fix the “bugs”. I keep having issues with hitting certain commands like closing tabs in Safari, having to double click things for it to load, my swiping is lagging, and sensitivity doesn’t seem to be all the way there although I adjust it.

The same has been happening to my 14 Pro Max since the update. I’ll wish I didn’t update! There’s a lot of lagging, freezing, inability to end calls, texts are all over the place. Please fix this Apple!

I have an iPhone 14pro 256 (50 gb free), after the iOS 18 update, it got very laggy:

1. The keyboard already faced some issues, i don't know why, as i think that this is a very basic app which should not face any issues no matter how slow the phone is. And after this update, this issue has reached a next level where sometimes i just have to type in thin air (swipe gestures), because the keyboard didn't show up.
2. Scrolling especially in WhatsApp has become very laggy where for the first 10-12 seconds after i open the app, i physically can't scroll.

Genuinely ios 18.0.1 has made my life worse everything just lags , stutters , jitters , literally the worst animations and what not camera issue , iphones sounds stops out of nowhere genuinely regretting updating to an iphone from samsung s24 ultra

I purchased my first iphone about 6 months ago. Iphone 14 pro max thinking it was going to be the best experience since sliced bread.

I was so wrong, I admit some of its due to getting use to it after android.

But the 18 & 18:1 update have slowed the basics down ( loading a safari page) that I realized what a horrible mistake buying this phone is.

I wish I had purchased a Samsung Galaxy Z fold 5 instead

I've downloaded the IOS 18 update a couple of days ago but it's really laggy. Internet is a little slow on my Safari & my Photos keeps randomly reloading and crashing for some reason. I believe there's some sort of bug or glitch there. Please fix it as soon as possible, thanks. Also my battery is going down faster than it normally does, can you please fix that as soon as possible as well? Also my screen time limit is going off much more earlier than usual for some reason. Can you please fix that as well ASAP?! And my screen has been randomly freezing for no reason at all. Please fix that as well ASAP! 😢😭

Same here after the 18 update, same battery issue now, screen dims, freezes. Types different and have to type real slow now for it to be legible. I tried to reset. It is a whole different phone now- not working well.

Same issue here doing iOS18. iPhone 15 Pro Max became really slow, glitchy, and UI refresh rate got slower, after doing the recent update 18.1 and enabled Apple Intelligence it is even worse performance, battery degrades significantly. It is 9:30am now and battery is at 33% with low power mode enabled, around 7am I left the house with 100% crazy !

The joke behind all this is the name Apple Support.

There are millions of people across the planet complaining about the same thing and apple are doing sfa about it.

Well today I solved the problem for me by purchasing a Samsung A55 Yippee back to the pleasures of android and Apple can take it iPhone 14 pro max and stick it up there hairy little arse.

We just want 120hz all day we don’t care about power consumption fix the issue with ios 18, pro motion display is no longer a feature in pro models??

the continuous shift of 60hz, 80hz and 120hz it’s disturbing we are paying alot to get these features especially while gaming

just fix 120hz refresh rate
