Apps on my iPhone crash on opening

Guys, Apple cannot reach into your current software version and magically fix this for you.

The bug is fixed in iOS 18.0.1, but you have to update your software version to apply the fixed . If you’re still on iOS 18 and have not updated to 18.0.1, it’s going to continue to be a problem for you. Hope that makes sense.

What worked for me was:

• Settings
• General
• iPhone storage
• Offload the app and reinstall it

I had to do it for WhatsApp, Instagram, Uber, Didi and a few other apps.

Try looking at the setting for your text size. If it’s below 100% lots of apps won’t open. This issue has been driving me crazy for awhile but this text change has made all the apps that previously would just crash on opening actually work.

I’ve manage to sort this issue out on my iPhone 15 pro max . It looks like I still had iOS 18 beta installed. Installed normal iOS 18. Now everything is working properly

So basically I was having the same problem I didn’t have the newest iOS 18 installed because I didn’t have enough space after installing it worked great hope it helps ik how annoying it was

I got tired of looking for solutions and finally what I did was erase the phone and load my backup. After that, the apps are opening fine. I made the backup right before erasing the phone.

Are you using beta . I had this problem when iOS 18 was released . I wiped my phone , uninstalled apps everything but nothing worked until I went back to the standard iOS . Then everything was back to normal

Turning off “Live Activities” for Instagram on the app settings solved my issue 👍

Iphone Settings > Apps > Instagram > Live Activites OFF

I am having the same issue. Still its crashing. I have got a temporary solution to this but you guys have to be very quick.

1. if some sends you any message on insta, open it via notifications bar. Then it wont crash... read the message and can come back to insta home page.
2. be very fast with your fingers on this.. open insta & before it crashes.. quickly tap the message on top right corner..and randomly click on any chat ..you have to be very fast for this.. it will be done in 3-4 trials.

If you’re apps are crashing on launch or in between then you must update your iOS version. install normal ios 18 version and hopefully your crashing issue will fix

Instagram, like all Meta apps is notoriously flakey. It works fine for me, though.

In the past, people have add success by also either installing/logging into Facebook or, if it's there, removing it.

It is most certainly a Meta issue. Facebook, Messenger and Instagram all crash. I can get into Facebook the third time.

Facebook Business seems to work ok.

These are the only apps crashing.

I’ve been having the same issues for the last few days after updating to iOS 18. Instagram, Facebook, & Snapchat are crashing instantly as I open them, and I have to open them several times in a row for them to stay open. But snapchat will eventually crash either way when I take a picture.

I have tried:

-Restarting my phone

-Force quitting the culprit application

-Reinstalling the application

Previously had developer beta installed but switched from that to the full release.
