Apple Music issues after iOS 18 Update

Has anyone experienced issues with Apple Music in iOS 18? For example, audio quality lowered despite Dolby Atmos and EQ off? Or trying to scroll through your playlist and the app crashes?

For Apple to say no problems with Apple Music after the ios18 update is ridiculous. I have intermittently experienced many of the issues described in this thread, although I would not go so far as to say it renders the app unusable. It surely does render it extremely irritating. I love exploring their library and discovering new music, then saving it in the appropriate playlist(s). That *was* beautiful. Now my primary and ever present complaint: what used to occur nearly instantly now consumes upwards of 30 seconds. Click to save to a playlist and…dummydum dummydum…thumbs a-twiddling…waiting…waiting… This goes beyond clunky.

Had another call today with the senior advisor who said the higher ups said the timestamps on my diagnostics log and my screen recordings didn’t match but that they do see a error in the diagnostics log that I’m getting so we had to do the diagnostics and screen recordings all over again, so got yet ANOTHER call for Friday. I asked him if they can see a issue in the log why does it matter what the timestamps say, and he said that they need to know what my phone is doing at the exact same time the actions are performed in the screen recordings. I’m close to having no hope with this. I’ve literally been on this call back repeats with the senior advisor since a day or so after iOS 18 released. But I guess we will see, will update you all again Friday.

Just got off the phone with Tier II Tech support after submitting a ticket with screen recording and diagnostics reports - told her same issues with iOS18 after doing the iOS18.0.1 update this morning = Music App still wonky!

Hopefully enough people will submit tickets to get maximum exposure on this issue - I suspect today's update was all about fixing iphone 16 problems and nothing to do with the Music app cause it sure as heck didn't fix mine! Hahahaha!

I use my legacy music tracks on my Mac hard drive. this is music I've paid for or ripped over the years from CD's. lots of Operas, Broadway shows, and concert and classical music.

I tried to 'send a' to my HomePod mini the other day after upgrading to 18.0.1. It basically said that in order to play MY OWN tracks I would have to pay for Apple Music +.

I managed after several tries to get a playlist play on my HomePod mini, but the screen on my iPhone 16 would not show what was playing. Then, it would stop playing.

If this keeps up, Android is starting to look like it's going to make a comeback.

the iPhone 16 Pro Max with 512 GB of space is turning into a buggy phone, with software to match.

After updating to OS18, many streamed music tracks from AM catalog (not Cloud) are not finishing correctly. Stop playing music approx. 50–60 sec before the end but timer continues running down to 0:00

e.g. Billy Idol – Eyes Wothput A Face

Stops playing music 0:54 before the end

Someone who is experiencing the same issue?

Tested on latest tvOS, iOS (not beta)

This happened to me twice with one song immediately after the update. It cut off exactly 1:13 at the end of the cut. The third time I played it directly (not in a playlist sequence) and it played through. This problem has not recurred for me. My primary complaint is how clunky the response is when I try to add a cut to a playlist, rendering that feature extremely annoying and verging on unusable. The other discouraging thing is - judging from this board - how long it took Apple to acknowledge that there is even a problem.

Also having issues with this. Updated to iOS 18.0.1 over the weekend and now Music app on my phone won't recognize anything I've previously loaded onto it from my personal library (songs, playlists, albums etc). But when I check the phone through Finder or the Music app on my Mac, the songs show up in their directory. Very frustrating and making me reconsider upgrading. Anyone have any new info on resolving this issue?

Thanks!
