Apple Music issues after iOS 18 Update

I called a few times. IOS rendered 99% of the songs can’t be played. The Apple support tech from a certain Asian country claimed to be expert asked me switch off my anti virus and asked me uninstalled apps in my PC because it’s a PC. He claimed that if mine is a MacBook should be fine. After going through the mirroring session and deleted some apps, he sounded hesitant and threw the responsibility to mine and insist I must download songs from Apple instead and fault was my PC. The next support tech told me the previous guy was not an expert which Apple claimed to be and he also can’t do anything except ask me call within office hours for support. Now every night I just try to sync and sync by leaving PC and the phone connected. Apple should have a well planned back up procedures instead of getting us to be lab mice in their trial and error.

since the iOS 18.1 my apple music has been acting up specially when I try to connect to Apple CarPlay. the audio is terrible or it wont connect to my car and just plays music through my phone instead of the car speakers. only when i use bluetooth does it work fine. I prefer CarPlay so I can use Maps at the same time. Plus the audio is always better through CarPlay than with my cars bluetooth. Please apple fix this problem. I have been looking at third-party sites to uninstall iOS 18 because of this issue! Its a hassle to even go down that road but not having CarPlay is terrible! Dissatisfied customer here! I love the home screen updates with the new iOS but i’d rather have Apple Music work correctly

I am still having issues with my Apple Music on M3 iMac. Can't drag songs around without instant crash. Now today, I can't change the names of playlists. In the left column, it is the same, but in the window it changes, then both go back to the old name. What the crap? I ran disc doctor on the external with my Apple Music library and my main computer and things week getting weirder. Fix please!

Yes to all of the above, but only occasionally, intermittently. My major and constant issue is how sluggish the app has become, especially when adding a song to a playlist or simply checking to see what playlist(s) a song is already in.

Yesss! I was forced to update to iOS 18 because it wasn’t working on the last version of iOS 17 either. It crashes, it won’t let me download any music or play music I haven’t downloaded before. Updating to iOS 18 fixed the issue for a little while but now it’s doing it again

I’m having the same issue. It freezes while I’m driving so I obviously have to wait to force close it. Whenever it freezes, it goes back to the beginning of the playlist no matter how many songs have played. It’s very annoying.

Apple keep removing my replies. I've spoken to support AGAIN today and they've said they've 'logged it with the tech team', which I don't believe.

As I said in my previous message that apple removed. Since updating to latest update of iOS 18, my AirPods no longer work with Music on my iPhone. It just produces this horrible hissing crackling noise.

They really need to sort this out because if it's not rectified by the end of the month I'm cancelling my subscription.

I just updated to iOS 18.0.1 last night, and now this morning I went to my Apple Music and all of my music was completely gone except for some albums I purchased years ago. I’m so bummed out and frustrated by this.

I'm convinced that iOS18 was actually made by Samsung or Spotify, etc...

How else could an OS be released that so successfully turns so much of the ecosystem into a shiny titanium dog-egg?

Since iOS18 my Apple Music in particular locks and crashes at least three times every single day, with the frequency even higher if I'm using bluetooth speakers or my Homepods.

For the money that Apple charge for their phones, frankly this just ain't good enough.

So, has apple been getting back to anyone about this?

I have an iphone 11 running 18.0.1, and apple music has been VERY consistently borked.

When shuffling a playlist consisting of downloaded music, native on the phone, Music will crash just past 30 seconds into the first song. I restart Music, hit play, and the song picks up again at 30 seconds on the dot, and then the playist runs fine.

Until the next time i start it, in which case it crashes again in precisely the same way.

I've tried reinstalling the music app, reinstalling itunes on the computer, replacing the playlist, even reloaded my music.

Alas, nobody has answers for me.

Honestly feels like over night this app has completely pooped the bed. What a sad state, this once amazing and revolutionary software is. I have a fast internet connection, my computer is not that old yet I see constant performance issues from Apple Music. They really need to fix it. When managing playlists, there's constantly issues with them. If I want to update a playlist info (name, organization) it mostly doesn't update, and I have to restart the app and try again. What a shame. Spotify certainly is looking like a good alternative again. Apple fix your s***

I’ve updated to version 18.1 and updated the firmware of my HomePods to the latest version. So far, I haven’t encountered any issues with Apple Music. I can now play my playlists without any changes in audio quality or no sound while the track is playing. Fingers crossed this issue now resolved

I have constant Music issues after updating to IOS18, from artwork to listings. I have music on my phone, sync'd from iTunes, that is there and can be played but only by searching for a song. The artist and album names do not appear under Artist or Album title, even when I use the search facility.

iTunes Music from iPhone15 Audio Quality using CarPlay is significantly decreased after v18 Upgrade. Called Apple Tech support up 4 levels for help. Could not fix problem. Did Apple make a business decision to compromise quality of CarPlay Audio and AirPlay Album Artwork to open bandwidth capacity and move it to other products?

Since updating to iOS 18.1, music in my library on my MBP is not available on my iPhone. I was told by Apple’s tech support that it’s because the missing music was purchased via a third party site, not iTunes Store. But that’s the whole point of iTunes Match. I’m sorry I updated my iOS.
