How is any of this possible? I don’t believe any of these numbers add up correctly…Apple has a brand new iPhone just released and I guess, with the new inflation, we get to pay for it, weather we want to or not. I have had iPhone for almost 10 years now - I’ve had “full storage” several times before and have always been able to clean it up without purchasing anything else - all of a sudden, it’s a problem???

That’s what you have in your iCloud storage, not on the phone. You have 20GB of photos on the phone. You can’t sync 20GB worth of photos in your your iCloud storage that has a grand total of 5GB of space.
Sorry, but your question isn’t clear at all… You have 20GB of photos on your phone. You have a total of 5GB of iCloud storage. You can not cram 20GB of stuff into a 5GB bucket.
No. If you look at the pics, where I specifically highlighted, I actually only have 999 mb of photos. I have rebooted the phone several times also…
