Can't switch iPhone mirroring between two iPhones on MacBook Pro

I have two iPhones on the same Apple account, both updated to iOS 18, and a MacBook Pro running Sequoia 15. When I use iPhone mirroring with my MacBook, it connects to the wrong iPhone. I'm unable to disconnect this iPhone to switch to the one I want to mirror. I turn off the iPhone connected to mirroring, but the MacBook only gives the option to turn on the iPhone I want to disconnect, without offering the option to connect the other iPhone. Any advice on how to resolve this issue would be appreciated!

On the iPhone with which you do not want to have any handoff or continuity feature with Mac please do the following

Settings > General > Automatically Airplay > Never

Settings > General > Handoff [Diable]

Settings > General > Continuity Camera [Diable]

You could

Turn Off Auto-Connection for Continuity Features:

• Go to Settings > General > AirPlay & Handoff on the iPhone that keeps connecting automatically.

• Toggle Handoff off on the iPhone you don’t want to use for mirroring. This should prevent it from automatically connecting for mirroring.
