Apple doesn't want to fix my wife's Iphone

Me and my wife we bought two models of iPhone 14 Pro this year and since then we have a lot of issues with apple service.

First my iPhone 14 pro came with a small scratch on the left side edge close to the volume down button. I noticed that in just one second when I unboxed my phone. As always they refused to replace it as I don't have a proof for that (In case I will buy an iPhone again, I will record it so I can have a proof).

For the money we pay for these phones, it is kinda acceptable to have minor issues, but also acceptable to replace it if it is a defect model, right? What is the waranty for?

I said to my self, leave it how it is, as I will have a case on it.

Now my wife's iPhone has issues with the battery. It doesn't last as expected. Even her iPhone 11 last a bit longer than the newest one in just one day. Other than this the health battery drains way to fast.

The phone is not even an year old and she already have 91% health battery. Last week the battery health drained 3 % , in just one week!

We both had iPhone before and we know how important is to keep battery health as high as possible and we always did the following things:

  • Take the phone out of the case when charging it.
  • Use original cable with original adapter
  • Do not use the phone while it is charging
  • Never let the battery percentage to be below 20 %
  • Never fully charge the phone, we always kept at 80% , sometimes just a bit more around 85%, but it shouldn't be a big deal, right?

And as always, they refuse to replace the phone and they are keep saying that is normal and they don't detect any hardware issue. They suggest me to visit a service for replacing the battery.

Even if we will choose this solution or not, in my opinion it is still not normal to replace a phone's battery when we just purchase the phone, it is literally a brand new phone!

They also didn't mention anything regarding the price for replacing the battery, will they do this for free? They didn't anything.

The battery health is expected to drop 1% per month on average. The drop is not linear meaning some months will not drop at all and other months may drop more. With you at 91% after a year, you are far ahead of the average. When the Battery Health drops below 80%, then it will be time to have it replaced. If that happens in the first year, then it will be replaced for free, but you are no where near that.

Batteries are consumable and will never maintain the capacity when they are new. A battery at 91% is not expected to last as long as one at 100%. Also comparing different devices is not very effective since they have different size batteries and the demands on each device are different. The iPhone 14 Pro has much more processing power than the iPhone 11 and puts a larger demand on the battery even though it is larger in the 14 Pro.
