How to fix iPhone 16 Pro Max Freezing issues?

Same. First it stopped during quick start after cellular then had to use iCloud to transfer. Took all day yesterday. This morning been lagging and crashing. Take a photo then it closes and pic wasn’t taken.

Was easier switching from android to apple 2yrs ago

I have the randomly restarts issue as well. I transferred my data from old Samsung phone and in 2 hours setting the phone up, crashed five times.

especially when I was pairing to my Apple Watch s10. When scanning with my camera the code, crashed 3 times…

I am having this exact problem after “upgrading” from 13 Pro Max to 16 Pro Max.

My phone constantly freezes, slows down, goes unresponsive, restarts itself eventually. I’m frequently unable to even open Settings on my phone.

ATT store and Best Buy (geek squad) were both unable to fix it after multiple restores and resets. They recommended calling Apple, but I find it hard to believe they’ll have any other solution aside from resetting it again.

How am I supposed to fix this issue if I no longer have my 13 to restore from? I only have iCloud backups.

Same here. Unfortunately Apple Tech Support don’t read this topic to advice the solution when you call them.

I have traded my old iPhone so can’t restore iPhone to iPhone but I’m trying to back up the faulty iOS to iMac and restore to iPhone. My concern is that the new backup will have faults.

Could I restore from iPad?

Is the issue due to Wifi privacy settings and would iCloud restore over cellular work?

sensing when I type took it to Best Buy they said their tests seen it was working fine but it's not the back button or just typing certain letters freeze and won't type at all is this a software issue or is it the phone itself their gonna give me a new phone but Still such a hassle for people to b dealing with this

It was a painful and terrible experience! I sold my old phone, so I can't transfer it from another phone, only through iCloud. I tried to restart the process many times, but nothing worked; all froze.

I am having same issue also. When I turn on the phone the hello msg came and I put my 15pro max near to transfer the data to new one. But after some transfer it’s freeze and only come hello msg with some effect. I can not go ahead or turn off the phone. It’s too hot . Then I let to drain battery to zero. Now it’s turn off. When I charged again to check it’s same. I talked to the apple service center also they said in nepal it’s not lunched yet so they can not do anything. I bought it in dubai.

I have had nothing but issues with the iphone 16 pro max. from starting it up on sept 20 it kept freezing so i kept having to restart it and it took me 3 hours to activate. and ever since then my camera doesn’t work, it keeps crashing. my keyboard is either putting in the wrong buttons, super slow or not working at all. the screen keeps freezing. and even sometimes when i try to like a post or something it doesn’t let me press it until like the 5-6 try. it overheats and it’s super slow and laggy. i’m super disappointed

As an update, still having intermittent issues with the phone locking up when opening apps (doesn’t seem to be much consistency on which app causes the issue: sometimes settings, sometimes messages, sometimes Hue, etc etc etc. the only “fix” I’ve found is to not use the phone for awhile (usually let it sit for 20-30 minutes) and then that app will work again (until the issue recurs with another app or apps).

Sometimes the phone reboots during this time (get the prompt to enter passcode before Face ID will work) but other times not.

I know some people report that they fully resolved the issue but restoring phone to phone (vs iCloud backup) but my old phone is long gone at this point (trade-in) so not sure how to fix.

got a new Verizon - apple 16 pro max -

booted up fine and transfer started - software update downloaded and started to install - the phone went to sleep. When swiping up - I saw a flash of the code screen and went back to the hello screen.

i tired to shut it down but only saw a flash of swipe off screen - but will not active

I have done a volume up, volume down and hold power - it reboots and goes back to the same scenario.

the phone is very warm.

apple support had me to plug phone to my Mac- iTunes and the Mac does not recognize the phone either- it’s does show charging - nothing else

apple support said the heat was due to being hung up in the update.

i have appt Monday…. Just wondered if anyone had any miracles cures ….

this has been so frustrating to say the least

needless to say- these were upgrades and the rest of the phones went good

this is my wife’s and the last to activate…. Arghhh!

It's not okay to have these issues with a new iPhone release. C'mon Apple!!

I wonder if Apple's AI could offer guidance with these problems?

Oh wait, it's not yet available for the iPhone that's built for Apple AI. !!!!

And this complaint is coming from an Apple fan. I have more Apple products than I know what to do with. Although as Apple's products continue to pale, I'm getting some ideas.

That may indeed fix the symptoms, however it doesn’t fix the underlying issue and for most of us the problems would return shortly after that reboot was completed.

The latest update, however, seems to have worked. Not to jinx it (like I did last time I thought it was fixed), but not had issues since installing that update about a week ago.

i got my 16pro max today. Did the start up process, kept freezing. Did update,

restarted and then froze on hello screen and when I swipe up to get to passcode. It goes right back to the hello screen, no chance to type in code. I’ve restarted it, left it off for a while…. Etc. has anyone found anything that will help? I have no phone at the moment. And no way to call anyone or answer calls.
