Screen Recording saving in HEVC instead of H.264

Since I updated to iOS 18, all my screen recordings are getting saved as HEVC instead of H.264 as before. This causes compatibility issues for me, is there any way to fix this??

How to change video format on iPad I have an iPad Air with iPadOS 16.5. I wish to take videos in MP4 format. Going to settings/camera/formats and setting Camera Capture to “most compatible” should set MP4. However, nothing I do will change the format from the default MOV. Can anyone help? Missing 1:1 video recording option on iPhone 17 Pro Max (iOS 26) Hello everyone, I recently upgraded from an iPhone 14 Pro (running iOS 18.5) to an iPhone 17 Pro Max on iOS 26, and I’ve noticed that I can no longer record videos in the 1:1 aspect ratio. On my previous device, there was a neat little trick I would switch to Photo mode, and then drag the shutter button to the right. That would start recording a square (1:1) video automatically. I used this all the time for social media content. However, on the iPhone 17 Pro Max, that method no longer works. The Camera app now always records in 16:9, and I can’t find any setting or option to adjust the aspect ratio for video recording. If there’s a new way to record 1:1 videos directly from the Camera app, I’d really appreciate some guidance. I don’t want to download any third party apps. Thank you in advance!
