So you’re seeing a temperature warning on your screen suggesting the phone needs to cool down before you can continue using it? If no, your phone is NOT overheating. But keep in mind, you likely just set up the phone and for a few days, the phone is working in background to index the millions of bytes of data. And you’re likely doing things on the phone at the same time, like using the camera, which uses the battery harder. Every year, when a new iPhone is launched, people come here in the first few days saying their new phone is overheating, when it’s just working harder initially. Give it several days to let it finish it’s normal housekeeping tasks.

The problem persists. I’m taking it to the Apple Store. It’s ridiculous. A simple YouTube video and in less than 1 minute it starts overheating.

I’ve gotten a message that it will pause charging until the phone cools down. 16 Pro Max here.
Mine is overheating as well… hopefully apple sees this issue and releases an update or statement to address this.
I also encounter this heating issue when playing games. Please fix this issue ASAP
Had same issue. my 16 pro max shutdown just after a 30 sec cinematic video and the back went crazy hot.
I am also facing the same problem, my iPhone 16 Pro Max not only heats up but restarted twice after 2 short video clips and few protrait shots taken using 5x camera. Please, fix ASAP. 18.0.1
Same here, I got mine 2 days ago and it gets hot especially when I watch video, or record video, it's so bad , not sure what to do , can't return it either 😟
My iphone 16 pro max of two days old also heats up quickly when I am using it.
it has been a week since i bought a brand new 15 plus and still heats even while doing simple tasks like listening to music on spotify or using instagram,tiktok etc or camera
Unless the phone shuts down to cool off, it's not overheating.
Same here. I could have 3 apps open or have the phone charging and it’s so hot to the touch. Is it defective? I’m even scared to put a case on it
Your phone is filled with temperature sensors; unless it shuts itself down to cool off, it's not overheating.
