So you’re seeing a temperature warning on your screen suggesting the phone needs to cool down before you can continue using it? If no, your phone is NOT overheating. But keep in mind, you likely just set up the phone and for a few days, the phone is working in background to index the millions of bytes of data. And you’re likely doing things on the phone at the same time, like using the camera, which uses the battery harder. Every year, when a new iPhone is launched, people come here in the first few days saying their new phone is overheating, when it’s just working harder initially. Give it several days to let it finish it’s normal housekeeping tasks.
I'm having the same issues. My iPhone 16 Pro is overheating when charging or using typical apps. It gets VERY hot! It's also freezing a lot so touchscreen capabilities aren't working smoothly.

So why does this not happen on older models?
I just bought an Iphone 16 pro. It was overheating even from starting/trasferring the data from old phone.
This phone gets ridiculously hot for absolutely no reason. I can be on the phone and it’s ridiculously hot. If I open my phone on the charger its going to be hot
16 PRO using Librivox audio, got hot enough charging turned off because of 'over heat'
I Am still in the setup phase but so far it is getting insanely hot and unusable.
In 30 minutes barely any apps downloaded and 13% battery has drained.

Also getting this on iPhone 16 pro. The occurance is not every time but often.
Iphone 16 since 9/20 and I am also experiencing very hot to touch temperatures. Hoping they come out with an update to fix this soon!
Same. I upgraded my 13 pro hoping that this would not be the same issue and it’s overheating.
Same issue, other apps no problems at all. But the moment I take 2-3 pictures the phone gets very warm.
Same experience here. Runs hot with camera. Extremely hot with video for any length of time.
I got my 16 pro yesterday and right away noticed it overheating while watching youtube!! Don't know if this has to be considered normal or is there something to be done.
