Qardio has gone bankrupt and app is missing from App Store

I just upgraded to the iPhone 16 Pro from the 15 Pro. Everything worked fine except for the Qardio app which is missing from the App Store. Thus it can't be used on the 16.

This is a real bummer as I have all 4 Qardio products. I have been using them for years and keeping historical records for health purposes. I'm seeing rumors that Qardio has gone bankrupt but haven't found any details. I've sent several messages to their support staff in recent days but have not received any replies. I do note that their online store is still selling their products as if nothing has happened. I consider this dishonest, at the very least. For the record, Amazon is also selling Qardio products. Imagine buyers' anger when they find out that the advertised app is unavailable.

This brings me to the big question: Why was the app removed from the App Store? I can't believe that Apple knows about this situation and the problems it will cause for many iPhone users like me. Maybe they would agree to put the app back up.

iPhone 16 Pro, iOS 18

looks like they changed the app name to “qardio heart health”. I had the same issue due to a phone upgrade and just found the “new” app and downloaded and it worked. Good luck to all!

Great find. It also appears that they have changed the link on their website to point to this app instead of the previous link that said the app was not available. The app has been in the App Store for over a year with the latest update being 6 months ago, so not sure if it is actually new or what changes have been made. Hopefully they are back on track. It is odd that they have not kept their users informed on what is going on and that their Support link is still not functional.

I recently migrated to iPhone 16 pro by transferring everything from my iPhone 14 Pro using the phone2phone option, and the Qardio App still works fine for me (I didn't have to reinstall). I just checked the Apple Store and see Qardio heart health App still being available (Apple Canada, v2.7.4 from 9 month ago, mine is still v2.5.3). Their website is still on, but the QardioArm is "Sold out". Their app is certainly not the best, but It would be sad if it really went bankrupt.

As an update: on the Qardio App page in Apple App Store, it states that "the QadioCore is currently only available outside of the USA", but I I don't know this impacts the Qardi App, since QardioCore is only part of the Qardio App.

PS: I was able to update it to v2.7.4 and it works with no issue.

If you still have it on an older device, make sure you don't log out of your account as you will not be able to log back in. Others have reported that they were logged out automatically and now cannot log back in. Since this just happened within the last week, reports are still coming in. Sounds like even on older devices, the app will soon become unusable, so hopefully we will hear some kind of announcement from Qardio soon.

Update to my previous post.

The problem I experienced a few days ago with my BP monitor has been solved. The issue was user error 😏 as the device needed new batteries and had to be paired with Bluetooth on my phone. I didn’t remember how to pair it and had to search online for instructions.

But the most relevant part of this post is that afterward, I was able to download the Qardio Health app to my iPad and log into my account. It worked and my history appears.

Sure about that? I can get the apps still and their official website looks normal. Google and AI search produces results saying the opposite. I’d like to replace my Arm 2, so anyone have a link to official bankruptcy info?

Qardio is a private company that does not have to disclose its financial details like you would find with a publicly traded company. In addition, bankruptcy does not mean that a company is going out of business. It is not unusual for companies to file bankruptcy for restructuring and to reduce debt obligations. You will also find that when a company does go out of business, it is not likely that they disclose the date that happens and usually involves employees showing up to work with the doors locked and they learn about it with a note posted in the window.

As for trusting a company with future sales and service for their products, that can only be an individual decision by you. On the plus side they have built a brand with products and patents that are valuable and puts them in a position where other investors or companies may be inclined to purchase the business, before they were forced to shut their doors if they did become cash strapped and unable to raise cash through funding rounds. And on the other hand users have found that they are unable to get any support for their products and calls/emails go unanswered.

The bankruptcy claim that the OP was referring to is most likely the one here from their Netherlands subsidiary.

I do not think Apple should be blamed at all. I purchased the QardioBase X from the Qardio website last week in Australia and payment went to them and shipped from Sydney I also cannot get the App or contact support at all. All their support links and email addresses are not working. If this company is bust why are they still selling hardware that cannot be used to its potential. I

So far, I can use the app on my iPad. I will upload my data to

myself and hopefully not upgrade the iPad. I have not found any reliable

information about Qardio filing bankruptcy papers, but when I click on support

on the website, I get the Secure Connection Failed page.

I did some more digging and found the company has not

recently filed for bankruptcy. There was a Chapter 7 adversary proceeding

filed against Qardio in 2019, but the case was dismissed with prejudice in

early 2020
