Qardio has gone bankrupt and app is missing from App Store

I just upgraded to the iPhone 16 Pro from the 15 Pro. Everything worked fine except for the Qardio app which is missing from the App Store. Thus it can't be used on the 16.

This is a real bummer as I have all 4 Qardio products. I have been using them for years and keeping historical records for health purposes. I'm seeing rumors that Qardio has gone bankrupt but haven't found any details. I've sent several messages to their support staff in recent days but have not received any replies. I do note that their online store is still selling their products as if nothing has happened. I consider this dishonest, at the very least. For the record, Amazon is also selling Qardio products. Imagine buyers' anger when they find out that the advertised app is unavailable.

This brings me to the big question: Why was the app removed from the App Store? I can't believe that Apple knows about this situation and the problems it will cause for many iPhone users like me. Maybe they would agree to put the app back up.

looks like they changed the app name to “qardio heart health”. I had the same issue due to a phone upgrade and just found the “new” app and downloaded and it worked. Good luck to all!

Great find. It also appears that they have changed the link on their website to point to this app instead of the previous link that said the app was not available. The app has been in the App Store for over a year with the latest update being 6 months ago, so not sure if it is actually new or what changes have been made. Hopefully they are back on track. It is odd that they have not kept their users informed on what is going on and that their Support link is still not functional.

Totally… it’s not long since I purchased a new BP monitor from them and I use my scales daily. Neither are any good without the app… just ordered new scales and new BP monitor from Withings - they’ve been around years so hopefully won’t have the issue again. Very much feel the app should still be made available for existing customers whatever the status of the company. I assume (guess work only) that Qardio have to pay Apple to have the app available and won’t have done so as gone out of business hence Apple remove it from the store. Neither company apparently giving any thought to customers such as ourselves…

Subsequent to my initial post, I've found that I have the Qardio app on my iPad and on my Mac. And they are both working, although new info isn't posted to Apple's Health app. I have no idea how they arrived on these devices. This isn't nearly as convenient as having everything updated on my iPhone but for some of us this might be an interim solution.

I too hope that someone will buy them but those kind of things usually take a fair amount of time. In the meantime Apple may have to be the catalyst. The last thing they want is to have iPhone 6 purchases lost or postponed indefinitely because of a situation like this. I, for one, would have thought long and hard about upgrading had I known in advance.

In addition to the aforementioned response, I also own the scale, blood pressure, oxygen, and temperature devices from Qardio. Although they no longer provide phone support, they continue to collect payment. Recently, I placed an order for a new oxygen monitor a few weeks ago. Despite sending multiple requests inquiring about the status of my order and estimating the time of delivery, I have yet to receive any responses. I find this practice to be highly unethical and potentially fraudulent, considering that the company may be facing financial difficulties.

It seems very unreasonable to me that the app has been removed. Even if the company has gone out of business existing customers should be able to be supported. Assume it’s Apple rather than Qardio that has taken the app down… very disappointing! Didn’t plan on having to buy new scales and BP monitor just because I upgraded my phone!

I do understand all that. I suppose the issue I have is that I believe the app should remain available for those that already use and rely on it. I can understand it not being available to any new users but to prevent existing users from continuing to use it seems harsh. Those of us who have updated our phones this year now have scales and BP monitors that might as well be paperweights which is annoying and, in my opinion, unfair. I’m not asking any more than the fact that apps I was using remain available despite my hardware upgrade.

The app has been working for me on my old phone - it’s only the phone upgrade that has caused me to have the problem.

Yes, I agree it would be good if someone bought them out. However I’ve now ordered my Withings and will stick with them going forward - they’ve been in the industry for many years so hopefully won’t the problems that Qardio is/has had.

Glad I found this forum. I hadn't used my qardio bp monitor in awhile and it wasn't working so I just installed new batteries and did the reset (though I never see a light when inserting a paper clip in the hole.) I have a new phone; the app still has my bp history but it won't connect to the phone. Bluetooth doesn't find it either. I looked up the "new" app but there was nothing to download as the "open" button appeared. It took me to the app on my phone. I'm really upset that the device won't work anymore. Devices are still being sold, so it's hard to believe the company would simply stop operations. This is crazy.
