My iPhone 16 pro max has a delayed response to the touch and it’s also skipped my touch inputs. It’s mostly happening with the keyboard and the back button on top.
I do have a glass screen protector installed but have seen a lot of other people complaining without the screen protector.
It’s a very wide spread problem.

I initially bought the Ailun screen protectors on Amazon, and immediately after the phone was not as responsive, and I figured it’s because my fingers were cold at the time. After a day of use, I removed the protector the the problem went away.
i subsequently bought QHOHQ screen protectors on amazon, and same unresponsive problem.
Then I bought the expensive Zagg protector, while it was better, it still was not up to part and I removed it!
The same problem If its esr Spigen or any brand this 16 pro max of mine won't work will have the same touch issue with the screen protector.. I even upgraded to 18.2.1. iphone has robbed us good this time
Hey, I’m using an iPhone 16 Pro Max, and I got it brand new, opened the box myself. It's been working really slow, and I consistently face touchscreen issues. Suddenly, the touch stops working, sometimes while opening apps, typing, or looking at pictures in the gallery or WhatsApp. It just stops responding. I updated my phone to the new software, but the problem is still there. I restarted the phone and tried using it without a cover, but it didn’t help, and I’m really frustrated.
My suspicion is that given three manufacturers sourcing the displays, that maybe a third of these will have the same issue. I returned both of ours because we weren’t willing to risk even an AppleCare replacement potentially having the same issue. Not great odds.

experiencing the same issue even with the latest update IOS. Delayed response, skipped touch inputs, mostly with keyboard and back button up top. $1000+ phone to have these issues unacceptable, Apple please fix these issues!!!!!!!
I have had my iPhone 16 Pro Max since the end of Sept. 2024. I am just now experiencing a touch screen issue. My keyboard seems fine, but the back prompt on the top left corner of the phone has started to become unresponsive. When I saw Apple was making their bezels thinner, like my Samsung phone, I wondered if there would be issues with the touch screen. I hope there will be a fix soon.
No body is forcing you to click on the links. It doesn't cost to be polite provided you understand the meaning of that word.
Same issue here. Hopefully it’s a software issue and Apple will be able too fix it soon.
I have the same problem on my 16 Pro Max. I have to type at half my normal speed and press much harder than normal. I’m tired of the missed taps and swipes. Very annoying.
It’s a problem with or without the screen protector. & Nobody is clicking on sketchy links. That’s completely unrelated to the problem
I also continue to have touchscreen issues even after updating to 18.0.1.
This is disheartening after spending all this money.
Yes,even after updating ios 18.01 ,I can’t see any difference,i am still facing touch problems in my 16 pro max.

How do you know it’s a software problem?
Same not even the two updates helped it’s literally like the corner of the phone and when you’re typing it sticks and stops typing.
