How to get rid of an icon on Calendar events that started after Sequoia Update?

I just upgraded to Sequoia and now each all-day event on my Calendar has a little icon in front of it. How can I get rid of them? They are just unnecessary clutter. Many thanks.

SOLVED!

Type in the appointment name, then select the time from the rolling list, then you’ll find the annoying symbol is not there. It only appears if you do not select a time from the list. If you type 9 a.m Susan coffee that annoying symbol appears. But an example of the new update is: Susan coffee, (select 10.00.) Or Smiths supper 19.30. Or Surgery 09.00 etc.

That's correct. Sequoia added the ability to see Reminders in Calendar. Brand new feature.

And that’s probably because feedback@apple.com got thousands of requests to view Reminders in Calendar, just like we have seen here in ASC over the years, such as “Hey Apple, it’s 2024! Why can’t we see Reminders in the Calendar app?"

I like to use my own symbols on events in my diary and use several for different categories to catch my eye me if it is an important appointment. For example a red exclamation mark followed by venue for medical appointments, or the fire emoji for others, etc. The new green calendar symbol is of no use whatsoever, annoying and takes up space.

No one participating here can do anything about it. Tell Apple:

If people want reminders, that's what the Reminders app is for! If they want a notifications for Calendar events, alarms can be set within the Calendar app. All-day events are already in the upper section of each day, separate from hourly events. Seeing a teeny tiny calendar on an all-day event is of no help, and it takes up valuable text real estate, and looks cluttered.

People have been begging Apple to link the two apps for years. Any time Apple makes a change, some people are going to be delighted and others very grumpy. Wait until next year. Apple may make a change that delights you.
