iPhone 16 Pro Max keyboard issues

i had this problem until i have removed the screen glass protector.

I am also experiencing the keyboard unresponsiveness. When I type, my keyboard randomly switches to the numbers keyboard so I start typing numbers into my words and have to painstakingly edit each word. I went to the Apple Store where I bought my iPhone 16 Pro and they tried resetting the phone from an iCloud backup instead of from my old phone. We then tried again to reset the phone with a backup from my Mac. We then tried setting the phone up from scratch instead of from a backup. We tried replacing the screen protector and we tried without the screen protector. I was then given a replacement phone and we tried setting that one up from scratch. None of the above have worked as I am still having the same keyboard issue. I haven’t had the phone for long enough to have noticed other issues but I am really frustrated by the lack of a solution to my issue.

There is something i found on YouTube. Somebody suggested deleting the keyboard and installing them again. I did just that and it somehow made it work. Try doing this and re-installing the English keyboard or whatever keyboard you use. It somewhat resolved the issue but not quite as fast as the previous iPhones that i owned before.

Here’s what I did that fixed mine:

1) Enable Haptic Feedback for the Keyboard

• Settings > Sounds & Haptics > Keyboard Feedback > Haptic (Enable)

2) Adjust Touch Sensitivity

• Settings > Accessibility > Touch > Touch Accommodations (Enable)

3) Turn OFF or Adjust 3D Touch/Haptic Touch

• Settings > Accessibility > Touch > Haptic Touch > Choose between Fast or Slow to change the sensitivity.

Fixed the issue with scrolling and typing!

Settings>>>Accessibility>>>Touch>>>Haptic Touch>>> press “Fast”

I have just updated to the new 18.3 update and now my keyboard is reacting how it should be. No lag when selecting characters and reacting to my responses. Looks like this was a software issue and not a hardware issue.

What works for me is force restarting the phone volume up, volume down then hold power button till the screen turns off then displays the apple logo then let go. All those other settings seem to work a little but then it happens again. So this method helps it for throughout the day. I think it’s something to do with the ram of the phone.

I thought I'd seen the last of the issues with this last update. It definitely seemed like it was better at first. Now, it's back to being terrible again, so I've switched back to Microsoft SwiftKey Al Keyboard, and that is working better than the stock keyboard.

I gave up on this and switched my keyboard to Microsoft AI swiftkey. There are no fixes for this yet and i don't have time to waste waiting for Apple to fix it in my line of work, way to frustrating to tolerate

I figured out the keyboard lag situation. So you have to go into your setting in accessibility, touch and go on assistive touch. Then scroll down you should see a turtle and rabbit. Move the slider to rabbit for faster response. It worked for me. Hopefully it helps you guys.

1) I found out the way to make the typing alot faster on the phone got to settings>accessibility>keyboards&typing and turn off KEY REPEAT

2) also go to settings>accessibility>touch>assistive touch> slide tracking sensitivity all the way to to the right

I improved this by going to Settings > assistive touch, scroll to bottom, and sliding the tracking sensitivity to the right. Seems to be a new setting. Improved the issue.

try going to setting -> accessibility-> keyboard and typing -> key repeats and turn it off. seemed to help me for the most part

setting->accessibility->keyboardtyping->hovertyping-> turned it off

it will work

Turn assisted touch off, that fixed all lagging issues with keyboard and screen.
