iOS 18, mail app no longer makes move to folder suggestion AGAIN…happened recently in iOS 17 as well

I have hundreds of folders that I use for various work projects. The suggested mailboxes has not worked since the launching of iOS 18. Same thing happened with iOS 17 but that was fixed right after the first or second update. I am still waiting this time around. Very frustrating. I don't think there is any self fix.

Yes. This is still NOT working on iOS 18.3.1

I have literally thousands of folders in my iCloud mail.

This was the most useful feature in iOS Mail and it’s gone again.

Instead, we get pointless AI features. My anger is rising. 🤷‍♀️

Please sort this Apple.

Well, the Mail App on the iPhone with this new update has been practically rendered useless. This new update is beyond atrocious,so much so that I’m thinking about switching over to an android and I’ve been a loyal Apple iPhone user since the first roll out of the first iPhone. My fix has been to download the individual apps from say Gmail and yahoo for my different accounts and outlook, and that seems to be sufficient yet cumbersome. I simply cannot believe that this is not been fixed yet. SMH. I know several people already that have switched over to android phones and they’re all urging me to do so as well. Seriously considering it unless Apple can fix this soon. And,

don’t even get me started about now not being able to save off to .pdf. Apple’s just decreased the efficiency of building my business and it’s maddening.

Right now, yes, Google App is the answer I’m using. Getting ready to switch my business iPhone to a Google phone. This problem is SERIOUS folks! Workarounds are key if you want to keep your faith in a brick.

I think it depends wether you are trying to smart move to the same mail account which seems to work or to another mail account which seems broken!

I would like to send them a message about this. I am on the latest version of iOS 18.3.1 and it still isn’t working. 🤷‍♀️

I played around with that. It still does not work.

The VERY SAD part of this quest to get the mail "suggestion" feature fixed on iOS and Mac OS is the ZERO document provided by the Apple Product Manager and Engineering Teams.

Apple Customer support is stuck, caught between us customers who are impacted and the lack of engineering and product management support.

I am still waiting for "Engineering" to return after "replicating" and submitting logs. Apple Customer Support still has no documentation on how this feature is supposed to work (shame on Apple's Product Manager for mail).

I did luck out and NOT update my iPhone. It is on iOS 17.7. The mail suggestions work A-OK.

This is very aggravating!!! Apple does things that are incomprehensible...like taking off the "save as pdf" that I will never understand.

The thing with this issue is that even though my iPad has the same iOS, it keeps working on my iPad but not my iPhone!!! Why?????

I just wanted to give Apple some feedback, but on https://www.apple.com/feedback/, the option for iOS Mail has disappeared entirely. Does this mean we no longer have the opportunity to provide our feedback? Is it time to switch to the Gmail app?

What a pain ! Engineers please fix ASAP. I want to be able to quickly select all fairly recent emails which I want to Move to a selected location (Bin). IOS18 can’t do it and I’m forced to delete individually.

Hello Roy and all others who are reading this. Yup, me too! Running iOS 18.3.1, but will update to 18.3.2 tomorrow 4/8/25.

Losing the ability to have the mail app “suggest” a folder to “move an email to” was a terrific time saver.

To the point, after reading all 4 pages of posts, if you or someone else can give me the URL to use to let the appropriate Apple personnel know what’s going on; I’ll be happy to add my own comments like many of you have suggested we all do.

It seems like there are different Apple sites to use, and some of them no longer give the option to report this category of problem.

Please help me to help us all, let me know which is the best URL to file my input in this known issue.
