Why is Safari not opening websites on macOS Sequoia?

I just updated my macbook Air M1 to Sequoia couple of days ago. Everything runs well except Safari.

Since then, I cannot open any websites on Safari. No error message, it only shows blank page and the loading meter keeps running but nothing shows up. I cannot even open the Mac support on apple.com. This is so frustrating and disappointing, I prefer to use safari than other browsers.

Anyone experience the same issue?

Anyone can share how to fix this issue?

It's fixed already, all you need to do is update the Sequoia to the latest version 15.0.1 and voila, problem solved!

I was told by the customer service there was indeed a software security bug in version 15.0.0 that made the unloading webpages issue on sequoia earlier.

Yes, I was also told that i'm the only one. Nonsense.

I have been in contact with Apple customer service since last week, until now it's still not resolved.

Also this problem occurred after I used the iphone mirroring. there's gotta be some bugs in the M1 Sequoia, because Safari in my iphone with iOs18 works just fine.

For me, it mostly works, but when accessing web site with Digest authentication, it results in "400 Bad Request". It appears that Authorization header of such requests has a list of fields repeated multiple times, which is clearly a bug. Sometimes it creates a long line with fields repeated over and over. Some web-servers are not happy with that (nginx, for example). Before Sequoia upgrade, everything worked fine.

M1 MBP, lovely machine, but Safari and Signal no longer work after going to 15.0.1.

Safari is clean, no extensions and no browsing data. Web sites try to load, spin, and fail and then try to reload again. Signal looks like it can't connect. I have tried turning the Firewall completely off to no avail. Chrome works fine. Everything else works fine.

Logging into a gitlab instance, the console shows '400 Bad Request' on many of the JavaScript files. Seems to be as other have described an issue with Authorization.

The Safari Technology Preview does not reproduce these issues.

MacOS 15.1

My work around was to use the Safari Technology Preview, but then I updated this last week and the 400 Bad request now happens on that one too. It's a disaster. I am forced to use Chrome on the Gitlab logged in tools, and this issue is to do with some authentication headers - idk.

Works fine on all browsers on multiple OS computers, only Safari has this problem.

Tried each "fix" and Safari still acting drunk and dumb and heaven forbid a password is required because THAT makes matters worse. I'm team Chrome until Apple recalls the "intuitive and simple" mantra and deploys that over the "let's complicate this unto oblivion" mantra.

Same here! It's March 29, 2025 and I WAITED to update to Sequoia and on "main" M1 MacBook Air because of the issues my M1 & M2 MacMinis (MacCMini <<<< NO! I'm sticking with MacMins <<<< :-) as I use my MM's to "test" no OS's. Sequoia seemed to improve with the updates since its release last year (no 6 months ago?), but NEW issues are arising which is making it unusable.

FIX PLEASE!!!!🙏🏽 <<< OBTW ... My RECENT Emojis are NOT showing up! WTH?!?!? I mean, its a SMALL issue, but very annoying!

Thanks for the explanation but I did not install any of the 3rd party softwares.

Also, I never experience any issues when I updated OS 16 & 17. Only happens after sequioia

oops I was meant to type the previous macbook ios - sonoma, ventura

got mixed up with iphone ios, I updated my iphone ios and macbook ios on the same day and the issue happened on the same day

I have the same problem. I finally just made Chrome my default until Apple can fix the problem. Apple you should be shame. Fix the issue.

I have just upgraded to Sequoia 15.0.1 and it's really unstable. Not true it's fixed. Worked well for a couple of days, and instability just started this morning

I just installed the Sequoia 15.1 update and the “400 Bad Request” problem persists. Apple seems to have no interest in fixing it.
