Do you have any other wireless devices (Wi-Fi or Bluetooth) nearby that have been added recently? If so, they could be causing wireless interference that is affecting your AirPods.

Like I said in the original post, the only way to get them to work properly is to remove them from every device besides laptop but that kinda of defeats the purpose not being able to connect it to multiple devices and only recently has this been an issue :/
The key there is the Bluetooth version for both devices. One of the Bluetooth 5.3 features is making switching between devices more seamless. If your PC has 5.2, that should be true too, so unfortunately, I don't have an answer for you why it is not.
At this point, you can certainly wait for someone else to chime in, of to contact Apple Support directly for further assistance with this matter. If you choose the latter, just select the "Support" link on the lower left-hand side of this forum's web page.
Which version of Bluetooth does your Windows PC support? FYI, the 2nd gen AirPods Pro supports Bluetooth 5.3 for audio connectivity.

LMP 11 so I believe its bluetooth 5.2 but the thing is I've had the airpods for a year now and it started doing this a few days ago out of nowhere.
Only my Iphone 13 but this hasn't been a problem for the last year.
