I noticed that the orange dot is on at the top of my screen yet I have apps open and no apps have access to the mic. I don’t have Siri listening for her name either. Anyone know why I can’t get rid of the orange dot? And does this mean someone/something is listening to me? I have an iPhone 15 and I’m on ios 18.

Open Control Center. It will tell you what apps are using the mic.
Also having Siri set to listen to “Hey Siri” will not cause the orange dot to turn on.
I had the same problem. Check if you have turned on Vocal Shortcuts in Accessibility. It worked for me after turning it off.
In my case it was MS Teams app . I changed or removed microphone access to teams app.
surprisingly it was shown as unknown in the control centre
Try Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset All Settings.
Just checked it says “accessibility” and nothing else. Where should I go to fix this issue?
Will this delete anything off my phone? I would like to avoid losing any data or pictures from a reset if possible.
