I am using iPhone 13 and recently I have updated to iOS 18.0. Since that day, maps are showing blank on the car when I connect through the Apple CarPlay, and a message is displayed after a few minutes on the car screen stating the location information is not available. When I start the car immediately maps are turning to blank on the car display.

Voice short cuts off already still not working
I actually completely wiped my phone to a new phone and still did not work .
i turn off vocal shortcuts but the sound you listen is when you hear something broken
Try forgetting your phone from the vehicle then try to re-connect.
The only solution I’ve found to work 99% of the time is to restart the phone and then plug it into your car which is so stupid.
Try turning off voice control! Seems to have worked for me
I still cat get my car play to stop crashing
Me either! I have iPhone16 plus and my car is Impala 2016. CarPlay works weird, map app screen works well but sounds does not OR vice versa. I think it depends on cables from time to time.

Me too, when updating to iOS 18, have various problems with Apple CarPlay, sound, WhatsApp, etc.
Having all the correct WiFi and Bluetooth connections.
Update did not fix
How about resetting your Carplay and then connecting the iPhone.
I using factory cable
I made reset all setting on the iPhone and now all is ok
I was have many problems with the update , Apple support advise me to make (reset all settings) and now all is ok
