I am using iPhone 13 and recently I have updated to iOS 18.0. Since that day, maps are showing blank on the car when I connect through the Apple CarPlay, and a message is displayed after a few minutes on the car screen stating the location information is not available. When I start the car immediately maps are turning to blank on the car display.

You can use the Reset settings option as a last resort when the other suggestions don’t work for you, and I think it’s the best approach to save yourself from having to modify all your settings again. Before that, you can try forgetting and reconnecting your iPhone to CarPlay, and also try a force restart Force restart iPhone – Apple Support (US). Sound problem in carplay after iOS 18 update, when music is played, the iPhone screen turns on for some reason, the quality of the music becomes like the sound of the radio, and when the screen is turned off, the music stops. I tested the ios 17 version, the sound is clear and good like before, after the 18 update, there was a problem and I can't connect with the cable, I'm connected with bluetooth, there's no problem with the cable, I'm waiting for your answer. I know better than to update my phone's IOS before the bugs are worked out! CarPlay worked just fine until I updated to 18.0. Now CarPlay does not work with a cable. Bluetooth connection is fine. It has to be the update.
My CarPlay is also not working with IOS 18. I can only bluetooth music. I’m about to go on a long road trip and not having navigation is going to be awful and dangerous having to constantly look at my phone. Please fix this apple!
Allowing carplay in content and restriction resolved the issue for me I read here that carplay needs to be allowed in content and restrictions and in my settings it was disabled I’m not sure why it changed since I didn’t modify any settings before the update.

Also having problems - I have the new iPhone 16 Pro Max and Car Play in my 2023 Mini Countryman. Every time I leave the car I have to start all over again and forget the car and re-connect it like new. I get in and out of my car multiple times a day and it’s making me want to chuck this phone out the window. I keep praying for a software update that fixes it.
Same here. Bluetooth connection is fine. Carplay via cable is acting weird. Wave map and narrator can be connected but nothing else. Audio from Youtube and the music library comes out on the phone speakers only, not to my car speakers. These have happened after I updated to iOs18.
Brand new iPhone 16 ~ Updated to iOS 18.
Numerous issues, Continuous plugging and re-plugging of the cord. Music Sometimes does not play through the car and if it does, it’s mono, Speaker icon on dashboard comes on volume cannot be adjusted properly.. Have done every troubleshooting, imaginable chords, reboot, resets, settings on the phone from every source imaginable. Not happy please help! Thanks guys.
I also had this problem when I updated to iOS 18. Carplay stopped working. I tried everything; nothing worked. I use a VPN, and I decided to stop it. I disconnected and reconnected to the car, and CarPlay worked!

New Hyundai Kona EV with Apple Car play.
Only works when my iPhone 13 is locked and dark.
It even doesn't work, when it' s only locked.
It has to be dark (use the power button once shortly), too!
As soon as I (want to) unlock my phone (and the display is back again) , all function of car-play are blocked and out of function.
I have the same problem… tried to connect another iPhone with iOS17 and worked perfectly fine .. Apple you need to fix iOS 18
Mine problem is really strange. After updating to iOS 18 (iPhone 13) it plays one second of a podcast, then mutes. If I touch the podcast icon, it plays, but only in mono and at very reduced volume. I also can't switch from podcast to radio if the phone is plugged in. It's not a cable issue - I bought a new one. But whatever, apple needs to issue an update, stat!
Turn off vocal shortcuts and it will fix it.
