I am using iPhone 13 and recently I have updated to iOS 18.0. Since that day, maps are showing blank on the car when I connect through the Apple CarPlay, and a message is displayed after a few minutes on the car screen stating the location information is not available. When I start the car immediately maps are turning to blank on the car display.

I know better than to update my phone's IOS before the bugs are worked out! CarPlay worked just fine until I updated to 18.0. Now CarPlay does not work with a cable. Bluetooth connection is fine. It has to be the update.
Mine problem is really strange. After updating to iOS 18 (iPhone 13) it plays one second of a podcast, then mutes. If I touch the podcast icon, it plays, but only in mono and at very reduced volume. I also can't switch from podcast to radio if the phone is plugged in. It's not a cable issue - I bought a new one. But whatever, apple needs to issue an update, stat!

I never had vocal shortcut on.
My car Cadillac XT4 no longer connects using my phone cable. I had an 11. Purchased the 16 and haven’t been able to use CarPlay since . Can connect via Bluetooth to play music. Will not even charge my phone but other phones not on iOS 18 can connect and charge. Tried updating software, car system says my software is up to date. Honestly I want my 11 back. This has given me a headache. Not being able to charge my phone could leave me stranded.
I called apple and they said I hand to wait for a specialist to call me back so I waited for him to call me and he said there was nothing wrong with iOS 18 it was my car and I should go to Chevy . So I went to Chevy and they said there is nothing wrong with the car . The specialist just blew me off and was no help at all
Iphone 14, can't hang up calls. Cant select maps, drops car play and resets. Losing calls. It was better on 17 but 18 is unusable. I need car play for my job and it making life very difficult
I found what the fix was for my problem. Shut off Vocal Shortcuts. My specific problem was either my car's audio would not play music through the car system, but instead the music would start through the iPhone speaker. Also, sometimes, the quality of the audio would switch from the car's normally better quality to more of a radio-type quality. I shut off Vocal Shortcuts and now everything works fine again.
I have iPhone 16 pro max and my Apple car play via cable worked perfectly with my 2019 Chevy Equinox and since ios18 when I plug my phone in it causes my whole system in my car to restart. I have tried a new cable, different port, reset my car, reset my phone, and made sure all softwares are up to date and the only thing that has changed at the time of this issue is the ios 18 update.
I hate you right now Apple. Please fix!!!!!!!

Did exactly as you instructed, turned off Voice Control in settings and fixed everything.

Just bought a 2024 Honda Civic Touring. Updated to iOS 18.0 and now wireless CarPlay doesn't work... Disconnects then freaks out !

Turn off "Vocal Shortcuts" see if that helps. It fixed mine.
Thank you for your comment but it didn’t work for me. @Apple can you fix this with an update fixing al problems happened after iOS 18 and 18.01 (which I have) updtates?
