Apple CarPlay Not Working in iOS 18.0

iOS 18 crashes CarPlay

Just bought a 2024 Honda Civic Touring. Updated to iOS 18.0 and now wireless CarPlay doesn't work... Disconnects then freaks out !

Apple please fix this ASAP!!

Thank you for your comment but it didn’t work for me. @Apple can you fix this with an update fixing al problems happened after iOS 18 and 18.01 (which I have) updtates?

i have iPhone 16pro max with iOS 18 and the sound quality is disgusting. Radio quality. Also, I loose my satellite radio when plugging in to CarPlay, music and audio just shuts off constantly. Have to unplug wire and reconnect. There are times when I’ll be in CarPlay mode and all of a sudden everything just switches automatically back to my satellite radio without warning. This is a major flaw in this update that needs immediate attention. It’s not safe when you depend on a hands-free experience when driving, especially when using maps or hands-free Communication.

If you have WiFi connection in your car when connecting CarPlay, then you need to do the following:

• open WiFi settings on your phone
• find the car WiFi network
• open it and turn "Limit IP address Tracking" toggle off
• also in section "Private WiFi Address", select value "Fixed"

iPhone 16, iOS 18, 2024 Hyundai Tuscon.... Connects and has Apple Maps, Spotify and a few other non Apple apps, however NO Apple Message or Phone icons. Cannot text or call at all.

Someone on this board suggested I turn off “Vocal Shortcuts”. It solved this issue for me.

I had to buy a Samsung phone for now. Until Apple fixes this . As I need my maps every day for work very frustrating I had to buy another phone thanks to Apple

I have an IPhone 15 and a Mazda and nothing has worked to fix the issue I have since iOS 18.1 update

I suggest first removing your car from the Bluetooth connections on your iPhone and then forgetting it in the settings under General > CarPlay. After that, try pairing again. If that doesn’t work, resetting the network settings on your phone can help clear any connectivity issues.You might also find this guide helpful:

My experience is that after up the iOS 18 and 18.0.1 Siri cannot read WhatsApp messages in CarPlay and can’t identify groups.

I read all the suggestions in here but nobody had this issue and therefore, no one suggested any solution.

i have the IPhone 15 & since updating to IOS 18 two days ago my CarPlay has failed to work at all. I drive a 23 Mach E & never had a problem connecting to CarPlay until the update. This is extremely frustrating as I rely on Maps a lot for travel for work. Not good.

I had the same issue as most everyone else posting here. I managed to fix my '23 Acura MDX and, now, everything is back to working properly.

1. Go into your iPhones settings and turn off everything related to CarPlay and restart the iPhone.
2. Do a factory reset on your car's screen.
3. Go back to the iPhone and reactivate CarPlay.
4. Back to the car's CarPlay set-up menu: When prompted, select Forget This Device.
5. Then, re-sync your iPhone to CarPlay.

I’m experiencing very similar issues!

I have an iPhone 15 Pro with iOS 18.0.1, and my car is a 2021 Santa Fe using wireless CarPlay.

Here are the problems I’ve been facing:

1. Music plays in mono.
2. The forward and backward buttons on the steering wheel don’t work.
3. Sometimes navigation has no sound.
4. Audio transmission occasionally cuts in and out.

Sometimes these issues suddenly resolve, but they don’t stay fixed for long.
