Printer issues with Sequoia

Had the same issue but just got it to work fine now! Open System Settings - Privacy & Security - Local Network and enable the app 'rastertoescpII'. There are manu other epson Apps listed there you might want to check too.

Since updating to Sequoia, from my MacBook Air I get a Communication Error with my printer Epson ET-1810. The printer shows online in the wifi network though, and I can print from my phone. It's just on the Mac that the problem exists. Deleted & reinstalled all Epson software, rebooted etc. Drivers are up to date. Sometimes it will suddenly print a page after a very long wait, but when trying again it keeps forever "looking for printer" and giving "communication error". When I pause the print job it shows the printer as online, idle. Start the job again and the error comes immediately back.

Removing and re-adding the printer does not change anything.

Anyone had the same and suceeded in solving it?

This is an Apple bug, and they have been told about it. It's not any help to you now, but I was told the fix for this would be available in a software update "soon".

I have a similar issue. My Canon printer prints one page and then stops. Repeatedly pausing and restarting the printer sometimes works. Previous OS worked perfectly.

Ckeck Sysyem Settings>Privacy & Security>Local Network. See if you printer in there and enable

Same issue with "looking for printer" and giving "communication error" on my Mac - seriously impacting my business.

I do not see that app "rastertoescpII' as an option.

Yes. Still not working after the Sequoia update. Unbelievable

I am using a Macbook Pro (2019). After the update my EPSON ET-4750 Series only manages to print one pages. If I print the same document with my iPad, it works fine. I have deleted the printer and added again, but it has not helped. Also the printer has the latest Epson firmware. Anyone with any ideas?

I have no idea what a 'rastertoescpII' is but following your instructions and enabling it worked like a charm. I had been trying to solve this for an hour, after the Sequoia update. Thanks so much, Jean-Francois228!

My two cents... upgraded to Sequoia 15.1 yesterday and now my MacBook Air M3 won't recognize my two printers in the office (a Brother and an HP) nor will it recognize my Brother at home (different model). Apple Support on the phone this morning could not solve either. Blamed the printer drivers ( all four????). My iPad Pro M4 works flawlessly while printing. I've tried deleting the office printers but now because 15.1 can't even see them, I am unable to get them back as an available printer on my Air. I have gotten the office HP to print from the MacBook but I have to go through the HP Smart app.

Wow, you just saved me from a near breakdown! I was getting so frustrated but thanks to your post, I was able to get my printers back to a workable status:)

I don't see rastertoescpll, is it something you have to add, Please explain how to do this in detail please. I would GREATLY APPRECIATE IT. It's driving me crazy.

I did a clean install of 15.0 and now I cannot add my Epson SureColor SC-P900 anymore. I do see the printer via Bonjour but it cannot be added to due communication problems. Latest Epson driver is installed.
