Sound Recognition Auto Turns Back On

Post-update to iOS 18, sound recognition was turned on automatically. When I turn it off, I find later that it automatically turns back on without prompting. How do I get this to stop?

I have turned it off via Control Center as well as through the settings menu.

I have the same issue on an iPhone 13 Pro Max. I read that if you have sound recognition in your control panel, removing it will solve the issue. I have tried this and the issue still remains. This issue started after installing iOS 18
