First step: Restart your router (even if all other devices are working)
Second step: Do you use VPN? If so, delete the VPN profile in Settings/General/VPN & Device Management/VPN. Don't just turn it off; delete the profile.

Thanks all for the replies Seems my security software was causing a glitch, uninstalling this and able to connect to internet and then reinstalling security software - works fine now
Can other devices connected to the same WiFi network access the internet?
Could you be a bit more specific? Have you tried the basics? adding a new location and resetting the IP?
You don’t need security software. It has only two purposes: Revenue enhancement for the company you got it from, and it will significantly slow down your computer. Third party security software on a Mac is less than worthless.
