Accessing Hidden Photo Album

I just recently updated my iPhone SE 2020 to the ios 18.0 version and saw that photos had dramatically changed. When I tried to find my hidden photos, it seems that my phone doesn’t support that action. It’s not in utilities or other places people have suggested. I can hide photos still, but have no way to retrieve or see the hidden photos.

Additionally, I don’t want to use face ID (a feature not allowed anyway by the iPhone SE 2020) and would love advice on finding my hidden photo album without this feature. Thanks!
