Why does my iPhone 16 screen starts flicker in pink when charging?

I have had this exact same problem. I believe it is software oriented. I had Apple run diagnostics on my phone and they said the hardware is fine. That being said, I am going to get a replacement phone tomorrow.

Yes, the same problem arises with my iphone 16 bought from Apple store, New Delhi.

This pink flickering/ flashing happens randomly before auto lock after dimming of screen lights.

Attempted twice with customer care. Remote diagnostic, hard reset, software updates already attempted. Now under process of restoring. Don’t know how long to go before any solution.

Not expected from Apple.

Seeing that you were able to record it using screen recording gives me peace of mind that it’s a software issue and not a hardware issue. Correct me if I’m wrong, but if it was a hardware issue, I don’t think it will show in the screen recording when it does the pink flicker.

Hopefully Apple will release a bug fix very soon as I really do like the stock ultramarine wallpaper. PS I’m on 18.1 RC and still experience this intermittently using the stock wallpaper.

I've been having it too on my brand new ultramarine Iphone 16 256gb. It is set to the ultramarine stock wallpaper because I like it and it's on iOS 18.2 (non-beta). I hope Apple fixes it soon and that it isn't a hardware issue. I also have iOS 18.2 on my iPad 9th gen 64gb and my older iPhone 13 128gb and they don't have the issue. They also don't have that wallpaper. If the wallpaper is the culprit then I'll change it. Minor annoyance since it looked beautiful with the stock ultramarine wallpaper. I guess I'm not alone and saw that reddit thred which concerned me. I also have Apple Intelligence now and it is quite buggy and produces images with messy anatomy.

I am a iphone 13 pro max user and facing the same issue. even the screen goes blank with white light. I had this issue for close to 10 hours. eventually ended up visiting apple care and submitted my mobile for investigating.

I had the same issue, at Apple Store they did a reset.. but still the same issue.. so I changed the wall paper of my phone to see if it will change something

I’m also facing the same issue even the service center was not responding to my problem or neither replacing my product continuously talking with apple support team but still waiting for to resolve it completely

It happened to mine, too! I just bought my iPhone 16 Plus in teal a few days ago and there’s always a flicker in pink whenever the screen gets idle unlocked or whenever I pull down notification center. I’m using the wallpaper with the teal color to match my phone.

Did a restore stop this from happening for you? I’m experiencing the same issue and the Apple Store is demanding that I provide a video recording of it happening when it is completely random and I have no idea at all when it will happen. I’m getting little to no help at all from Apple regarding this flaw in their brand new product.

This pink flashing has happened to me three times. Just got iPhone 16 less than two weeks ago. Updated to iOS 18.1. Happens randomly, even when my phone is just sitting there.

Should I submit a direct report to Apple? Seems like a hassle to exchange the phone if the issue is system wide.

The same issue persists with the iPhone 16 Plus on iOS 18.2.1.

I captured a screenshot immediately, but it did not appear in the screenshot gallery. Additionally, I have observed instances where the screen dims or is unlocked, and the issue occurs. I am hopeful that this is not a hardware malfunction but rather a software glitch that can be swiftly resolved.

Mine is also doing it! It seems to be random but it’s while using the stock wallpaper - however this will be Apples excuse to get rid of this walllaper on the next update and force us to use the tacky generic wallpapers they leave behind.

never understood why they release a wallpaper to a specific phone such as the iPhone 16 wallpaper, only to remove it on the next iOS release.
