Has anyone had issues with their 16 pro max camera shutting down when you try to take a photo?
The only way to fix the issue is to restart my phone, but it’s only a temporary fix as it will randomly start again.
I cannot screen record it happening, because when the camera glitches, my phone stops working and freezes for about 5 seconds.
The phone is fully updated.

I finished a call with Apple support. They ran a diagnostic test and found a hardware malfunction. The phone needs to be replaced.
I recommend calling into tech and asking for a diagnostic test. If they find the same hardware problem, you may need to get a new replacement.
It sucks since the phones are brand new, but I’d do it as soon as possible. Make sure you have apple care+ before calling in.
I just talked to apple support, I ran a diagnosis and they didn't find a problem with the hardware, they said they will look into it and let me know

I’m having the same issue with my 16 pro and was told it’s a software issue and will be fixed in the next iOS update.
