intermittent bluetooth connection to 2016 RAV4 on iPhone 16 Pro

A brand new iPhone 16 Pro connected to 2016 RAV4 thru bluetooth without any problem initially. It came with iOS 18. A new update with version number 18.0 showed up this week and the phone was updated. Since the update, the phone has been connecting to and disconnecting from RAV4 multiple times each minute. I tried cycling bluetooth on and off, forgetting the RAV4 and re-pairing with it, and resetting network connection on the iPhone. The problem persists. Are there any other things that I can try to fix the problem? Hope Apple is working on a fix since are other posts on the internet about similar bluetooth connection problems.
