Google chrome download

my brand new Macbook air m3 does not open chrome at all. My mac is up to date, doesn’t seem my wifi is slow, and safari and every other app works super fast. I timed chrome and it takes over 2 minutes to open with no other apps opened!! Ive tried deleting and reinstalling many times. When it finally loads all the tabs have incredible lag and eventually exits out. Does anyone else have this issue? I have school sites not available on ios. How can I fix this ;(
