Apple TV 4K Screensaver causes media to start

Ever since the update yesterday to tvOS 18.0 I’m having an issue with YouTube. I’ll pause a video and do something for a bit, and then when the Apple TV screensaver starts after the 5 mins I have it set to, my video will be unpaused and start to play. The screensaver remains on the screen, but the video will play in the background and I’ll hear the audio from it playing. I haven’t checked this on other apps, but it’s very annoying, I’ll leave the room while a video is paused, come back, and it will be finished. Is anyone else experiencing this issue since the latest update?

Fixed!!

After updating to iOS 18.1, I opened the App Store, which triggered a YouTube update and this problem is resolved.

For some reason YouTube was not updating until the “What’s New” screen was cleared in the App Store.

Same issue! Very annoying. I also notice that the photos used from iCloud library for the screensaver are not changing that much, also flickering in image when starting. Please fix Apple.

Same issue. This needs to be fixed as Youtube is the main app used. Otherwise, what's the point of this box?

I just noticed this yesterday. Videos seem to unpause when I re-enter the room. I was wondering if maybe my phone is somehow unpausing it when it detects it’s nearby?

Having the exact same issue. I pause YouTube Premium on a video and leave the room or take a call and when screensaver kicks on it unpauses the video.
