iMac late 2012. Everything was working perfectly and smoothly, but suddenly it started showing screen artifacts. I believe I'm experiencing the same issue as described in this discussion. I’ve attached a video of the problem.https://youtu.be/QUUkmj5pSl4

That looks like a logic board or motherboard failure, or the graphics card failing. I don't think trying to replace parts on a Mac this old will be successful. It is obsolete and parts are typically scavenged from other obsolete Macs that have also failed. Not a good way to proceed. It is probably time to find a new Mac.
Have you blown the dust out lately?
Or got an App to check the CPU & GPU temps?
Thanks for the suggestion! I haven’t cleaned the dust out recently. I’ll give it a try and see if that helps with the screen artifacts.
