iPhone 16 Pro GPS isn't working.

I have the same issue! I just upgraded from an iPhone 12 that had no gps issues and immediately noticed that my new iPhone 16 pro (with iOS 18.0.1) is having some gps problems. Both Apple Maps and Google Maps can’t seem to locate my phone and it lags behind or glitches around/off the road, telling me that I have to reroute. This is really frustrating and makes my navigation systems basically useless.

I upgraded from an iPhone 8 to a 16 pro. I too find the GPS functionality terrible. It places me in streets parallel to the one I'm on. What's particularly distressing is I also have a 2 year old Oppo Android with excellent GPS functionality and expected the latest iPhone to have equal or better. But it's much inferior. I used GPS apps frequently to record my cycling, kayaking and hiking, as well as finding directions when driving my car. Apple: please fix the problem.

Same issue here, was hoping a fix would come after the 18.2 update but nothing. Coming from a 13 Pro max with no problems. Kind of want to get it back and change the battery like I originally had planned 🙄

In my case thats not the problem. I walk lot of time and wank in free areas. Forest etc...

And before that when we use the car, this was also not an issue. My opinion there is something wrong in the IOS

Wish I has seen this thread before I made the mistake of buying a new iPhone 16! Clearly there is either a hardware or software issue with the GPS that is not being admitted to. My iPhone 12 was very good at tagging my photos within a couple of meters and good for navigation (sadly the battery was on the way out). The iPhone 16 has a lot of lag with the GPS - position jumps around all over the place and the MetaTags in the photos are completely useless (unless you just need to know what country you are in!) The MetaTags in my photos are sometimes more than 1km away from the known location. Will be returning the iPhone to the store tomorrow and just get the battery replaced on my trusty iPhone 12.

I am having a lot of GPS issues with every application - primarily WAZE and Maps. When I drive using Apple CarPlay, it freaks out and thinks I’m on a road nearby and can’t seem to update to put me on track.

I do not know what to do to solve this problem outside of the normal system settings and power cycling.

I’m facing the location accuracy issues on my iPhone 16 pro. It turns out this issue is reported by several users and my phone is under warranty. I’m not getting any support over phone or at service center. What will fix this ?

SAME PROBLEM. GPS on google maps is laggy and can't track my location as my iphone 11 did.

I have the same issue, wonder when they’ll fix the issue.

I went through all resolutions with apple support and also factory reset the phone.

Anyone had any luck with any tricks to get it working?

I have the exact same problem. Keeps gltiching, lagging or throwing me into a field or street when I am on the highway. Never had this issue with my old phone and started as soon as I got the 16pro.

I have the same problem here in Brazil. I update my iphone 12 to 16 PRO and my GPS on Google Maps frequently fails to provide accurate location data!!!

Same issue, costed me about an hour of rerouting due to wrong turns so far. Iphone 16 Pro Max

I also upgraded to the 16 Pro and my GPS cuts out if I receive an incoming telephone call or text while I’m using it. Why haven’t they come up with a fix yet?

Same problem , map shows starting position and turns around but does not work , stays on the starting position when already driving…

Mine google maps does not work, can’t find any help
