For the past month plus any time I pause a video on youtube it resumes automatically within 5 minutes. Is this a setting or an issue with the app? I've force quit the app and it doesn't work. I don't have this issue on my other apple devices that use youtube. Just the apple tv 4k box.

Same issue here. Apple tvOS 18.1. Deleted YouTube app and re-downloaded. I had my tv screensaver set to 5min, and every paused YouTube video was resuming from pause after 5min. Coincidence? No, because when I reset screensaver to 2min, YouTube would incorrectly resume after 2min. Not sure if this bug is with apple tvOS or the YouTube app. In meantime I’ve set my screensaver to 30min.

I can confirm the screen saver issue. I had it set to 5 minutes, I then set it to 2 minutes and it auto resumed precisely 2 minutes after I pause it, the screen saver even shows up for a brief period after that.
It looks like an YouTube app issue as it doesn’t seem to happen on any other app.
