My MacBook Pro 2018 shows battery low sign when it is 50% battery life!

I tried to reset the system management controller SMC, PRAM etc. It didn't work.

Eventually, I tried macOS Recovery on an Intel-based Mac. Option-Shift-Command-R. It works!!!

I hope this helps you guys.

Hey there! Thanks for sharing your experience with your MacBook Pro battery issue. It sounds frustrating to have your laptop showing a low battery warning when you still have 50% charge left.

It's awesome that you were able to resolve the problem by reinstalling macOS through macOS Recovery (Option-Shift-Command-R). That's a great troubleshooting step that can often fix software glitches affecting the battery indicator.

For others who might be experiencing similar problems, here are a few things to try:

  • Check your battery health: Go to Apple menu > System Settings > Battery. Click "Battery Health" and check if your battery is in good condition. If it says "Service Recommended," it might be time for a new battery.

  • Calibrate your battery: Fully charge your MacBook Pro, then let it run down to 0% until it shuts off. Then, fully charge it again without interruption. This can sometimes help recalibrate the battery meter.
  • Update macOS: Make sure you have the latest version of macOS installed, as software updates often include bug fixes and improvements for battery performance.

If none of these steps work, it's always a good idea to contact Apple Support or visit an Apple Store for further assistance. They have the tools and expertise to diagnose and fix any underlying hardware or software issues.

You can try unplugging the magsafe charger from both power source and all cables for 60 sec. then plug everything back in for a reset.
