Mac OD compatibility with Asus SDRW-08U9M-U optical drive

This Asus Zen Drive device worked flawlessly when burning music CDs from my iTunes library with High Sierra. It will NOT complete the burn process with Catalina. I have ruined 3 new blank CDs in my attempts.

My ASUS ZenDrive is not recognized by my MacBook Pro I have a MacBook Pro M4Pro with a MacOS Sequoia 15.5, and an ASUS ZenDrive U8M (SDRW-08U8M-U), which is said that compatible with mac OS X 10.6 and above. The problem is that when I plug the drive into the Mac, it is not recognized, and the CDs also not played. It gives a little and subtle ticking sound when plugged in. Talk to ASUS. I doubt that they still provide firmware updates for this device, and if its firmware is incompatible with Catalina, you are in the market for a new drive where the vendor clearly states it is compatible with Catalina or later.
