My ASUS ZenDrive is not recognized by my MacBook Pro

I have a MacBook Pro M4Pro with a MacOS Sequoia 15.5, and an ASUS ZenDrive U8M (SDRW-08U8M-U), which is said that compatible with mac OS X 10.6 and above.

The problem is that when I plug the drive into the Mac, it is not recognized, and the CDs also not played. It gives a little and subtle ticking sound when plugged in.

my external optical drive (blueray burner) requires 2 usb connections in order to get enough power to spin dics up

it comes with a cable in the box

I connect 1 of them to the computer and the other to an ac charger with an usb connector same types one use to charge ios devices

something like this

though my asus blueray burner has a mini or micro usb connector (I forget which) if the same holds true for you then it would have to be a type of splitter with a such connector in the one end
