I have Apple TV+ on my iPhone, which works fine, but lately the app I use on my Prime account on my TV has stopped providing audio when playing films and TV programmes, although the trailers do still have audio working.

I’m not understanding the description “apple tv app on prime video” … I am not aware on any Apple service on Prime accounts.
Apple TV+ uses the Apple TV app. Prime Video uses the Prime Video app. These are separate apps.

The Apple TV app should follow the sound format options as set for the device. There are no special audio settings that apply to this app alone.
