Unable to receive or make calls from iPhone post iOS 18 update

I am facing the same issue. Most of the time it’s showing “call failed” in my iPhone 13 after the new update. Be it while connecting to Bluetooth, car or just normal conference call , and also during perfectly ordinary calls , it’s no frustrating. And many times the calls are not registered in Recent Call Log!!

Has anyone received any solutions to this problem? This has been ongoing since last year since the Ios update. I did have a conversation with verizon and they replaced my sim card but it is now happening again? I have to continually shut down my phone to receive phone calls? It is annoying, my family members have to send me a text to say 'call me' and then I in return call them back. Sometimes it also takes 3 or 4 tries before I can even make a call!

i am not sure how many people are facing this it is a major bug i am using iphone 16 pro max call failed in all scenarios even face time whats app teams call when you even have good wifi this is a major issue

i think apple have to do something i am a iphone user since 10 year if it not solved in updates i will switch to android

Just tried this. Fingers crossed it helps with mine. I have iPhone 15 pro max. Very upset at myself for updating the software. For the remainder of life this phone has with me I won’t ever update it again. Second time in less than a year I have such a horrible experience with their updates!

I haven’t updated yet. I’m scared to update it and something else messes up and it doesn’t fix this issue. But I’m def still having this issue on my iPhone 15 pro max on 18.2.1 as we speak. I hate it. I’m looking to see if anyone updated to 18.3 first and if it’s fixed before I do 😩.

Just updated to 18.3. Problem still exists . I speak with senior reps and they just back pedal . No answers just logging then submit then they just say “working on it “ refuse to let me know when problem I addressed , I just have to magically know

I had a iphone 12 and upgraded to ios 18.3 and can no longer make or recieve calls. I have tried everything apple have said its not a known issue. I then bought and iphone 14 and updated to ios 18.3 and guess what i can't make or recieve phone calls. I googled and have tried all the tricks and can make calls temporily if i reconnect to the network but after an hour or so again i can't make or recieve phone calls. Very frustrating when i have ill / elderly parents. Has anyone got a resolution?

It would be strange if Apple ignores this as there are various techsites mentioning it as of IOS18, and it seems worse after 18.2.1.

already did a clean install with recover from backup. I simply cannot start from scratch. Too much important info on my phone and losing everything regarding installed apps.

Apple should correct this behavior.

They did this to me and tried to double down and do it again. They are FULLY aware of what the issue is and sending people on wild goose chase with carrot and all this countless testing and logging . Admit your problem and give work around till you fix it

Did two resets--today a genius bar Apple person did a complete reset of my phone--removing all apps and it DID NOT WORK--hours of installing Apps and passwords and the first two calls I got dropped and I couldn't call back

This sometimes will give you temporary relief , but it’s short lived. There is no rhyme or reason to this glitch and it will be fine for a day or two then next day I can’t make a call all day . It’s weird that a brand new phone requires ghetto tricks to get it to operate instead of just fixing the problem . What’s worse is that Apple has zero compassion for the affected users and not interested in making it right . Never in my life did I think I would entertain an android but im

Apple is unable to do anything with this issue, I have a 13 , ios 18. The call failed issue is still persistent, the customer support just keeps doing some random diagnosis but no solution. Planning to switch to android. Been an iOS user since iPhone 4s.

They are fully aware of the issue but choose to play dumb or identify it when you call in. They have you chase your tail with random tests and time consuming tactics till you give up. I’ve been going through it since October . Hate android with a passion but hate a non functional phone even more .

You are right, after 4 days i am getting call failed issue again. IOS 18.3.2 also failed to fix this issue. The only work around i am using is restart my mobile which will temporarily solve the problem.

I painfully read through all the bug fixes and updates and it was not listed . I was vaguely told by a senior rep that we will not inform you of this known issue and it may not be listed in the updates . Sounds like they don’t want to publicly admit they have an unsolvable problem that has been plaguing peoples phones for half of a year . Sadly this problem is intermittent and you just gotta wait for the surprise . I’ve gotten so used to answering and calling on speakerphone and headphones because I’m scared of my important business calls getting dropped . I will try some normal calls over the next few days and report back. Apple won’t publicly admit it so I guess just one day it will work or maybe not .you will never know and have to have some fear of dropping important calls and the last call not registering on your phone . Definitely not what I paid $1400 for
