Music on Mac - Duplicate song in Music

Hello,

I have a song in Music's Library that lasts over 10 minutes.

I would like to create a copy of that file and then limit the length of the copied song to 5 minutes through Get Info > Options.

I tried Copy and then Paste but can't see the duplicate.

Also tried Copy and then Paste to the desktop, change the name of the file on the desktop and then File > Import... the renamed file. Can't see the new file in the Library.

Is there a way to achieve what I want to do ?

Set the desired Start and Stop times in the Options tab.

Highlight and use File > Convert to make a new copy in your indicated format.

Use Get Info to give the new track a new title (e.g. append "Edit")

Clean the Start and Stop out of the original track.

(This procedure assumes you are starting with a non-protected file.)
