deleted importable content

i use a digicam to take pictures and connected the sd card to the phone, i received a message saying something along the lines of “importable media available for download” or something, there was a delete option which i pressed because i thought that would remove the new tab that popped up in the photos app. the pictures got deleted entirely and i need them back please.

why would something like that be a thing
