Is there any way to stop "curating Photos"? Is it possible to recover the missing pictures?

The Photo app is curating my pictures, and it seems impossible to disable it. I am concern about the missing information and pictures, part of them are work-related. It should be my option how to manage them.

The curation is not deleting any photos or videos.

It is just creating many different collections from the photos in your library to present then organized according to common criteria - the Media types, for example, or organized by the location or people in the photos.

You should always be able to find all your photos and videos when looking at the "All Photos" view.

If items are missing in "All Photos", you may want to check the "Showing only" filter.

The "curation" that Photos does is, for instance, to find pictures it thinks you'll like and put pointers to them in Memories or Trips or Featured Photos. To do that it catalogs descriptive information in its database, and it makes that available to you. Since all albums contain pointers to pictures rather than actual copies, there is no change to the pictures at all. Even changes and additions that you make don't alter the original picture files-- those are always kept unmodified.

So, like markwmsn asked, what are you seeing that makes you suspicious?
